From the moment I put my first foot down on to the tarmac of Lilongwe airport in Malawi, I instantly felt the sense of calm, peace and love that Malawi and its people exude. Little did I know that what was about to unfold was a wedding of a lifetime- (ok maybe i knew it). This wedding kicked off on Gina’s parents farm called Chankhandwe just outside of Lilongwe in Malawi, Africa. Guests travelled from different countries across the globe including Zimbabwe, South Africa, UK, and Botswana just to name a few. They transformed their family home to create this incredible wedding celebration in this African paradise. What was so impressive about this wedding was how much their family was involved in pulling everything together. From Gina’s mum flying into South Africa to choose & import the flowers into Malawi, to Gina making & decorating her own wedding cake. Andrews sister & her hubby made the invites & so many of their family members helped with the decor, planning & preparations. This stood true to their family farming background- who as I observe are down to earth and are never afraid to get their hands dirty.
This wedding was out of an african fairy tale for me. It was like going to documentary photographers paradise and i absolutley adored each and every moment with you all. I hope these photos serve as a beautiful reminder of the incredible experience of your wedding celebrations. Thanks so much to Blanche Burger for coming along & photographing too! Take us back!
